Only thing that I changed that seemed to cause this was adding Gravestones mod.

its aparendly because of a lava block being adjacent to a transparent block

It's due to lava generating next to transparent blocks, and the lava texture not being pulled properly. AFAIK this is gonna be fixed next update. Here's the exact commit that fixes it:
