This seems to be caused by nether slate generation.
Toggling the config results in the ability to travel to the nether.
However generating a new world creates basically the same crash on the overworld.

Rustic is the only coherant mod name in the log.

ok, reducing the number of attempts per chunk to <3 and the vein size to <24 also seems to resolve the issue, going to suggest that be the default state for the config.
