Verified with no other mods or packs installed, both on an old world and a new world.
If Sapience is installed, entering the Nether (or loading into a game saved in the Nether) crashes the game after about half a second and gives me the following error:

The game crashed whilst exception ticking world
Error: org.spongepowered.asm.mixin.transformer.throwables.MixinTransformerError: An unexpected critical error was encountered

Also, disabling Sapience and loading up the game again, the Nether isn't corrupted or anything, it runs fine, in case that's relevant.
