What Should Be Added or Changed?

Add a setting to only scale based on players in an area if they are on a team together.

Why Should This Be Done?

Ran into an issue on my server where two players not teamed up were relatively close to each other in the world. One players difficulty was way higher than the other and was causing high level mobs to spawn and kill the lower difficulty player over an over. To be able to only have the area multiplier apply if the players were on a team would solve this issue. I use FTB Teams so It would be nice if it integrated with that.
