Its only a question if this mod doesn´t update to 1.18.

This is a bug tracker, it should be used to report bugs. For questions like this one or support with how to use the mod, please use #sc-talk or #help respectively in our Discord server. That's also the place where you can find out the status of the 1.18 update, which is currently waiting for SecurityCraft v1.9 to be released (no ETA). Java 17 poses no issue.
