What's the issue you encountered?

Seems like when it freezes the water it checks for the biome where the water's at, while when melting it, it checks for the biome on top of the ice block, thus in some cases is different (since they added 3D biomes)

How can the issue be reproduced?

Set winter between a river and a taiga, after that set spring and wait for ice to melt.
