Updating the snow when loading a chunk

Overview
When loading a chunk, the mod would take int account how much it snowed / how much the snow melted when the chunk wasn't loaded and update the snow coverage accordingly.
Why would this feature be useful?
I think it would make the mod way more immersive. The main problem with season mods is that when you walk around your world, the snow can be very inconsistent. This is especially the case when you find snowy chunks in the middle of summer because the last time you went there was during winter.
