Crash Related to Saving Silent Tool to world.

Versions

  • Silent Gear: 4.0.22
  • Silent's Gems: 5.0.3
  • Silent Lib: 10.5.1
    USED NEOFORGE: 21.1.176
  • Modpack: All the Mods 10
  • Optifine Installed: No

Expected Behavior

The Mod should run fine without crashing after creating a custom item, especially due to having another tool already in inventory.

Actual Behavior

After creating a tool using metallic parts (note that silent gear metalworks is installed) minecraft hard crashes due to being unable to save the tool. However, the world saving is activated via opening a menu or pressing escape to go to settings screen. Unusually though, another silent gear piece is already in my inventory, but it was made during another play session.

Heres the mod crash log for help
All the Mods 10 - 3.2 crashed. The logs have been uploaded to gnomebot.dev:

latest.log | debug.log head / tail (~17MB & ~95k lines) | crash-2025-06-08_17.45.41-server.txt | CurseForge: launcher_log.txt head / tail (~14MB & ~44k lines) | KubeJS: client.log / server.log / startup.log | crash_assistant_app.log

Mod list changes beyond the modpack:

[2;32m24[0m added, [2;31m8[0m removed, [2;34m12[0m updated.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Load into world
  2. Combine Tool Head with Tool Rod
  3. Exit Crafting Table
  4. If you press escape, in bottom right corner, it will say "saving world" then freeze and crash.

Although this is a great bug report, it would be good to send this to LobsterJonn and the ATM team GitHub when you can.

I would go to the All the Mods 10, but they always say "game corrupted," "don't update anything ever" (even when things aren't updated, in relation to a separate case) and immediately close it.

So I don't particularly trust them to appropriately help.

Hmm, that does sound unfortunate. However, LobsterJonn is the creator of the Silent Gear Metalworks mod and would probably have a solution to this bug.

I'll find him, thank you!

Of course, good luck!
