1.9.4 Version Bump

I don't know if this mod is still alive and kicking, but if anyone's out there it'd be nice to see it updated to some of the newer versions of Forge. Flan's is a really solid idea, but the fact that development halted shortly after the 1.8 update, and that there isn't even an update for the popular 1.8.9 update has probably forced a lot of people to go without it for a while.

What's the issue with Tesselator and TMT?
Most of the common ModelRenderTurbo (Flan's Mod) models seem to render fine... (not sure about obj).

I have an own version of TurboModelThingy (updated back from 1.2.5 code avaible at http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1272395-1-2-5-you-know-what-time-it-is-its-garycxjk-time) and it worked fine in all 1.8-1.10 versions (*obj models not tested)

commented

the problem is, the TMT of flans mod is heavy modded to support some special forms like the Shapebox which is the main part of most models by now.

We're not dead. Just adding more features to the code atm, some really cool ones. However, updating to 1.8.9 is a terrible idea, it breaks the whole mod and is very hard to fix. Sorry =/

commented

It breaks what? You're talking really vaguely about the issues with an update, calling it "terrible" because it breaks parts of the mod without explaining where components will need to be changed or re-implemented. Obviously, the update will break things. But it's one thing to call an update impossible, another to explain why. And if the update is just "hard" and not "impossible", there's no reason not to put a 1.9.4 update up as a milestone other than laziness or unwillingness.

commented

Yeah that's the thing that bothers me too.
I'm willing to look into the issue if the author explains it a bit.

commented

1.8.9, Flan just doesn't have the time. Sorry =/

commented

Sorry, was in a hurry and couldn't type the explanation... Reason : In 1.9, "tessellator" is gone, this means we will have to re-write the whole of TurboModelThingy. TurboModelThingy allows for 3d models, this would be very difficult to do since Flan only knows how the code works and he has been very busy with work and irl stuff (He's not working on the mod much anymore)

commented

Well that's fine, I'm sure there are people willing to take the time to write stuff and hack together solutions for this, but having a list of things that will need to be re-implemented would be helpful for those picking up where Flan left off.

commented

Also I'm pretty sure the Tesselator library is available in Minecraft Version 1.9.4 @war-monger . In any case I'm going to see how far I can get on my own into porting this stuff.

I think,
1.8.9 version should be out and remove the bug as soon as possible.
Now, flans mod bug are too many.

(my English is not good)

commented

We don't know. We're just trying to figure out a 1.10 update, or get as close to one as possible, in the interim.

commented

I'm pretty sure I bugged the whole thing as much as I fixed it, despite the fact that I double checked every single line I have changed.
The compiler shows 122 errors atm.
Rendering is the most serious issue. Excluding it, migration to 1.9 is almost done.

What bugs?
