did you know that cats being affected by catnip is an actual trait determined by genetics? i would like to have this added! i did some research on how it works, so that i could explain it to you.

apparently the 'catnip gene' is dominant, and there are 2 alleles for it. if a cat has the catnip gene on both or one of the alleles, they will be affected. however, if the cat lacks the catnip gene on both alleles, catnip will have no affect on the cats.

i would love to see this added, as it is a fun little quirk that i only recently learned about cats. if you could add it, it would be pretty cute!
