3D Skin Layers Don't Render on Some Skulls

I did notice it too, did some changes during the 1.21.9 update (there it should hopefully be fully resolved), Try with the dev build here https://github.com/tr7zw/3d-Skin-Layers/actions/runs/18171517949 (the Artifacts button at the bottom).
Wait, on 1.21.9 with that dev build it's the same issue? Then I have to look into this again, my guess is, that the skins load too slow, and it generates the mesh for the Steve skin instead.
Yeah same issue there. Also, are there plans to fix this for 1.21.8 too? Luckily I haven't encountered it on 1.21.5.
