i flew through the clouds instead of climbing the beanstalk and now the game boots me to the server select screen when i attempt to load the save. i haven't tested this thoroughly yet but given the circumstances im fairly confident assuming its the cause

Sadly I was not able to reproduce this. It would be very helpful, if there was an error log.
