Players experience disconnections since 1.21.5+ when moving or shift-clicking items into containers if the host has the Smooth Swapping mod enabled. The issue occurs in LAN or hosted worlds and does not happen when the mod is removed.

Here are logs and what is happening from @Azkabanos:

1. Host (minecraft fabric 1.21.8 with smoothswapping mod) goes into minecraft world, opens lan.

2. Friend (minecraft fabric 1.21.8 without smoothswapping mod) joins.

3. Host opens his inventory.

4. Friend uses shift to swap items in chest (doesn't happen if he only shift-swaps in inventory) while host has inventory opened.

5. Friend is kicked from the world with the message "Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: Failed to decode packet 'serverbound/minecraft:container_click".

I have noticed it happens when You put something inside chest with hopper, that might be the case with mod trying playing animation for item that's no longer inside storage. (It got sucked into hopper)

Are you sure this is right issue? I know this bug, but I think we're talking about different bugs 🤔

I need more info to figure it out, perhaps this is one of the problems described earlier. It crashes very rarely and in very strange circumstances

it is safe to say that this has been fixed since I've been playing with my friend for some while now and they didn't get disconnected while placing items into chests

edit: closed my original issue, I'll let you know if it happens again or smth. thank you for fixing and updating this awesome mod ❤️
