I cannot reproduce this on the latest commit (currently f577eb2). Are you using the 0.1 release, or a specific commit? What settings are you using? I tested every setting, and the only one that caused me to see the moon through the lava was disabling "Complex Vertex Format", but that is due to #136. Note that disabling "Complex Vertex Format" breaks all rendering not just lava, so it's unlikely to be related to this issue.

After some discussion on discord, this was reproduced on the 0.1 release only. It was fixed in 5840ca2, so this will be fixed in the next release of Sodium
