Request Description

This is vanilla bug MC-262144.

For a while, end gateway beams rendered inside-out, which has since been corrected. However, the translucent outer beam is still affected by this issue, for both beacons and end gateways. This is most easily seen by placing a dark carpet on top of a beacon.
