PLEASE IGNORE THE C2ME ERROR - The issue still occurs even when removing C2ME from the mods folder!
Oh, I got the numbers mixed up, thought I had 1.8.7 but it needed 1.8.1, my bad 😭
Iris needs to be updated, there were internal changes in Sodium. Wait for Iris 1.8.7 to be published.
@Blue4322 or you can downgrade to 0.6.8 or 0.6.7 (whichever is the latest one available for your version) which does not depend on Iris >1.8.7:
Iris 1.8.8 for 1.21.1 fabric was published last month, there's no need to downgrade or make this more complicated.
@douira yep, but there are still versions of Minecraft that are stuck on Iris 1.8.1, including 1.21.3. Which is the version that I personally use, and that's how I ended up in this issue. The only solution for me was to downgrade - but I wasn't sure which version changed the iris requirement, as it wasn't mentioned, so I had to look in the json. I made my comment for everyone who stumbles upon this issue in the future to save them some time from having to check manually
For 1.21.1, which is the version this issue is about, there's no need to downgrade since it's still a supported version and both the latest versions of sodium and iris work together on it.
@douira do you want me to open a separate issue about 1.21.3, then answer myself in the comments, and then immediately close it after?
my comment was not a question and did not inquire a response. it was a hint for anyone who might land here in the future - to save them some time
I appreciate you taking your time to respond, but there was nothing to respond to in the first place
