I much prefer using barrels over chests, in vanilla or soph storage, mostly for the full block storage and no opening lid, plus I just think they look better.

My problem is ever since SS added double chests, it becomes really hard for me to want to use barrels for bulk storage because with chests now, each upgrade covers two inventories effectively cutting upgrade cost in half.

I think it it could both fix my above problem and look great aesthetically if barrels could be combined. But instead of combining horizontally like chests, they would combine vertically! This way they would get the same 2 for 1 upgrade special as chests but still be unique.

I fully understand vanilla has double chests but not double barrels. My answer to that is vanilla does not have fancy, sometimes expensive, upgrades for their barrels and chests...

The only slight caveat here would be limited barrels, I see two paths forward there and both kinda make sense so I'm fairly indifferent.

1. Limited barrels cannot be combined, this makes sense just because of their name. Limited

2. Allow them to combine vertically as well, but a 6 and 8 slot gui would need to be added as well as needing to figure out the external item visual/render..
