Sophisticated Storage, Items dont get organized even if the stack isnt full

I have been using Sophisticated Storage for quite some time now but this is the first time I ran into a problem. I am currently playing on 1.20.1 and the Storage Controller does not distribute items to Limited Barrels (occassionaly) as well as chests that are "full" with bunch of 1 iron ingots for instanse.

In those cases, it acts as it the storage is full and goes to the dump chest. This really sucks because the whole purpose of the Storage Controller is to organize things for you and not for me to run AFTER the controller does its "job" and manually move items that have a linked barrel and should have gotten there in the first place.

Is this a bug? Have anyone come across a problem like this? Is it something I did differently? Because I have been playing this mod for a long time, setting the barrels up with the controller the same way and never encountered this problem.

I tried to update to newest 1.20.1 version uploaded but the problem continues.

this sounds like those items may have additional data attached to it making them different from the ones that already exist in the multiblock

  • if you take part of the previously existing stack (the one that you would like the items to stack to) from the storage and try to deposit it using controller does it end up in the correct storage?

the problem continues even if I take an item from already stacked up barrel, controller does not take it

ok that seems like the storage isn't connected to the controller then. Have you moved it around somehow recently? And if you break and replace controller does it start to work again?

I moved it around, replaced it, relinked everything bunch of times and it shows as connected.. if i remove 1 iron ingot from the barrel it continues filling it up.. The barrels are connected well, but stacking does not work even with vanilla items taken from the same stack

This is a multiplayer server so I wonder if that affects it? But we did play on multiplayer with this mod before, same set-up I have now and no problems.

It also happens with a sophisticated backpack, the items does not stack up and you have to press the sorting button to fix it for a while.. but the problem comes back

Sometimes it works, but it is mostly broken and I have been fighting with it for a week now, the barrel is also not locked which was my first thought of why its not accepting the item.

yeah that definitely looks like there are data attached to the item. If you use mod like https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/better-tips-nbt-tag you should be able to see what nbt is attached there unless it's a hidden capability one then that would be more difficult to find out (probably the only way is just to remove mods until you remove the one that's attaching it)

btw, could you get me a list of mods that you have in the pack, I might be able to point out what mod may be the cause of this issue
In the past I know that CustomNPCs caused this if you happen to have the mod

Could you try viewing the nbt using that mod I mentioned up there to compare the ingots if you can actually see a difference directly in the nbt?

actually never mind this is Origins mod causing the issue for you, they need to fix that on their side to not make stacks different like this.
