When you look at the use of the iron chest of any wooden variant, it only shows how to dye it, but it doesn't show that it can be used to make the gold one.

That definitely works for me and many others without any problem, but I also don't know a lot about your setup

  • what is the version that you're on? both Sophisticated Storage and Sophisticated Core
  • what kind of recipe viewer are you using - JEI / REI / EMI?

only the recipe for dyeing them comes out

Thanks, turns out 1.20 had an issue of these not showing up properly. Just fixed that and a new release will be up on CF / Modrinth shortly
