Bug Report: Missing Upgrade Recipes in JEI for Sophisticated Storage Barrels and Chests
Description:
When using the Sophisticated Storage mod alongside JEI (Just Enough Items), the upgrade recipes for barrels and chests do not appear in the JEI interface. Only dyeing recipes are shown when checking item usages via JEI.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Install Sophisticated Storage and JEI.
- Place or have in your inventory any base-level barrel or chest from the mod (e.g. Oak Barrel, Spruce Barrel, etc.).
- Hover over the barrel or chest in your inventory.
- Press U (or use JEI’s interface to view usage recipes).
- JEI will only display:
- Recipes for dyeing the item with Minecraft dyes.
- JEI does not show the upgrade recipes that allow progressing the storage blocks to higher tiers (Copper, Iron, etc.).
Expected Behavior:
When pressing U on a barrel or chest from the mod, JEI should display all valid upgrade recipes for that specific storage block. For example, it should show that:
- A base-level barrel or chest can be upgraded to Copper or Iron.
- Copper can then be upgraded to Iron.
- Iron to Gold.
- Gold to Diamond.
- Diamond to Netherite.
These recipes exist and work correctly when crafted manually, but they are not shown in JEI, which can confuse users trying to figure out how to progress through the upgrade tiers.
Additional Notes:
- This issue occurs consistently across all wood types and applies to both barrels and chests.
- The crafting recipes themselves are functional in the crafting table—only the JEI visibility is affected.
Environment:
- Minecraft version: 1.20.1
- Forge version: 1.20.1-forge-47.4.0
- Sophisticated Storage version: sophisticatedstorage-1.20.1-1.3.52.1187
- JEI version: jei-1.20.1-forge-15.20.0.106
I am pretty sure I fixed this bug yesterday probably around the time of your report. Could you retest with the latest version of storage?
