Sometimes when applying material textures to barrels in the decoration table the orientation of the textures are different for different blocks

In example 1 the top of the used material block is pasted to the side of the barrel; the top of the barrel is actually the material blocks side texture

In example 2 however the material oriented correctly; the top of the material block is pasted to the top of the barrel

Is there a way to change the orientation of the pasted texture that I'm missing?
