Obsidian just not working as expected, doesn't do deepslate sound, and pitch doesn't do anything and it just sounds like breaking glass.

Obsidian is under the sounds:quartz block tag, as these blocks are all crystal like - please read the disclaimer at the top of the block sounds configuration sub-section. The name of the block tag doesn't necessarily correlate to the blocks within the tag.

I use sounds mod 1.0.1 On 1.20.1 Fabric

The "sounds:quartz" block tag sound is the glass-like effect

You can use a datapack to edit the tags if you do not like them.
