Adding weapon traits to vanilla/other modded weapons/ Question

Hello! I'd like to ask about adding weapon traits to other, not SW weapons, is it possible in any means, and if yes, how(on versions above 1.16.5)?
I really love that feature, and i'd like to expand it for my modpack for my private server
