Simply enable a config option to allow weapons with two-handed one to not disable off-hand items, some weapons like battleaxes and warhammers do use two-handed movesets with better combat but longswords use the regular sword moveset, so I see no reasson I shouldn't be allowed to use offhand weapons with it
