I'm currently using the latest version of Spiders 2.0 for 1.12.2 (1.0.3), and there are pretty annoying amounts of spiders spawning above ground during day. They're far more common than any passive mob...I didn't notice this issue with previous versions, but I did skip ahead a few, so it's possible that this has been an issue since 1.0.2.
