Spyglass zoom bugs out if default keybind is changed (Forge 1.18.2)

With the keybind set to its default, the mod functions as intended. When the keybind is changed, the mod is borderline unusable. While the scroll-to-zoom and no-crosshair features still work as normal, pressing the changed keybind causes the screen to zoom in and out a few times and not display the spyglass overlay. Also, if the spyglass is in your inventory and not your hotbar, it will not even attempt to move the spyglass to your offhand as normal. The zoom keybind only functions normally if you already have the spyglass in your hand or if you are in Creative mode and don't have a spyglass in your inventory at all.
If needed, I can record and post a video showing more details.
Also, a quick feature request: When using the hotkey to pull the spyglass from your inventory into your offhand, swap the items back after releasing the hotkey. If that isn't possible, it would at least be helpful to have a config option making it so you can only use the hotkey to access your spyglass if it is in your hotbar so that you don't have to rearrange your items when you're done with the spyglass.
Hi! are you using any other mods? I'm not able to reproduce these issues in forge 1.18.2 with spyglass 1.2. Can you share a list of installed mods or a link to the modpack you are using? Also, does it happens when you set the keybind to any key or is this with specific keys? Thanks
I was trying to bind it to C (because of Optifine muscle memory) and in testing different keys, the only keys that I found that would work are Shift, Ctrl, and Alt. After a fair amount of testing, I'm now running into the same bug on the default Z key. I also double checked to make sure I had no other keys bound to the same key as the spyglass during my testing.
Here is a link to a video showing my issue. During the entire video, I'm trying to use the zoom key to use the spyglass. Judging by the behavior and the sound, it's acting like when you hold a key down in a text box (one letter appears, a short delay happens, then it starts filling the text box with that letter) as if each letter typed out is activating the keybind at once. This also explains why keys like shift, ctrl, and alt still function normally. My guess is the issue is with how the key is being detected, possibly caused by another mod.
Here's the mod list. It's fairly extensive as I'm trying to build a modpack for a server for my friends and I.
