I have been trying to find out the meaning of the active effects hud icons and have not had much success. The icons I usually have are a +, wavy lines (resemble math symbol for "approximately equal to), and double arrows to the right (>>). These also have a green circle with a + inside it and a vertical graph bar on the far right. My HUD is vertical and anchored at top right. There are also other icons that show up from time to time, and I have no clue as to their meaning either.

I would appreciate any information y'all could give me, as this is driving me a little batty. I thought the idea of that HUD was so you didn't have to keep going to "magic" to check active effects status, but if the meaning of the icons is not known, I find myself still having to go to check out.

Case in point: The other day I killed a bear and contacted break bone fever. I did not notice the warning at the top left, and it was only when the sixth or seventh person told me that I looked bad that I decided to check. I could see no difference in the HUD icons, but sure enough tab/left arrow/enter/active effects showed me that reduced stamina. I quickly took the white phial and took care of the problem. If I had known how to interpret the HUD, I would have been able to know I was infected sooner and have taken care of it sooner.

I have no idea what you are talking about... can you post some images to help me understand?

It sounds like you are talking about HUD elements added by some other mod.
