1.12 | 5.2.6 Storage Drawers error when trying to remove/craft items in Refined Storage grid

Issue description:
When I try to remove an item from the Refined Storage crafting grid or add the recipe items to the grid from JEI, the server throws the error and I can't take any items out of the grid. The error indicates RS and Storage Drawers so I'm not sure which one is throwing the error - I think it may be Storage Drawers because if I remove the external storage link the crafting grid works again, but then again it may be the code for the external storage itself so I reported here and to refined storage.
What happens:
Crafting grid item manipulation seizes up.
What you expected to happen:
Items to move to the crafting grid or my inventory
Steps to reproduce:
- Open crafting grid
- Left click an item or load a recipe from JEI
Version (make sure you are on the latest version before reporting):
Minecraft: 1.12
Forge: 2406
Refined Storage: 1.5.8
Storage Drawers: 5.2.6
