I have tested all three variations of the upgrade in the “Storage drawers-neoforge-1.21-13.8.5” and “Storage Drawers-forge-1.21-13.8.5” versions using the curseforge launcher.

Maybe you misunderstood how they work, you need a redstone comparator to read the signal. This is controlled with the enableAnalogRedstone config setting. In my testing, the upgrades do work.
