[Feature request / Suggestion] Inventory Cable Model update

As the title suggests, proposing a change of the inventory cable model. My suggestion (not 100% sure if possible or not) would be to keep the current design on initial setup, however once a program is “complete” whether fully functional or not, it will change the texture/model of the full block model into a say quarter block space “pipe” texture appropriate for the specific type of operation going on.
For example say I’m transferring water into a boiler generator, and also transferring energy from the boiler generator out into a battery, once that has been coded and “completed” it would change the inventory cable into two quarter block size pipes one indicating fluid is being inputed and another indicating power being extracted.
Changing of textures would be cool, but it should be kept as a full block. It would be interesting to see the path that's being taken for the network.
Maybe holding the label gun could turn the blocks invisible and show thin lines representing the connections. Looking at a line would show the direction and items going in it.
