Before Continuing:

  • Check you are using the latest version of the mods and its dependencies
  • Always include a latest.log if you are crashing
  • Remove mod that enhances Minecraft: Optifine, Sodium, others. The issue persists.
  • If you are unsure which mod is the culprit.
Disable all of your mods and enable them 1-2 mods each time to isolate the culprit
  • Confirm that there is no existing issue with a similar description submitted in the list of issues.

Version

1.20.1-FORGE

Supplementaries Version

1.20-2.8.17

Moonlight Lib Version

1.20-2.13.12

Issue Detail

goblets rendering is causing players to crash.

moonlight had not been updated yet at first (i try to update mods once a week).
I'd previously teleported to the area the goblet was in multiple times and didn't get this issue. both of us were not in line of sight of the goblet. other player teleported along with me, and crashed. i went into creative mode, teleported to goblet, removed it, and no crashing. tried testing with the player that was crashing, so I placed one while the other person was out of sight but in the area. they crashed each time.
I updated Moonlight, then we tried with me placing a goblet again. (they were in survival, I was in creative.) I instantly crashed during the animation of placing it, and the other person crashed a few seconds after.
no errors/warnings show in server console.

other player's crash logs:
player crash 1.txt
player crash 2.txt
player crash 3.txt
player crash 4.txt
player crash 5.txt

mine:
(before disabling rendering type mods):
crash-2024-10-18_23.57.46-client.txt
latest.log

after disabling those:
latest.log
crash-2024-10-19_00.30.52-client.txt

Please let me know if I can help with more info. Thanks so much

(PS-assuming unrelated, but the versions listed on curseforge appear to be the same for the past 2? june and august both say 1.20-2.8.17). so to clarify, we have the one released on aug 29

I've admittedly not done the disabling all mods thing yet as I'm not well versed in compatibility things and this level of modding in general. creating the modpack was a huge rollercoaster that took months and countless crashing and flailing and confused anxiety (and a ton of help from other people), so i'm hoping it's okay to ask for your help first? i feel like that is above my skill/knowledge level and I would do badly

does this still happen with updated mods?
