Description: Currently, rope arrows are used to create instant, quickly-descendable "ladders"-- very useful in caves. However, I crave a similar use to create instant rope bridges across gaps.
My idea (the best way I can think of to implement such a feature) is that, when a rope arrow is held in the off-hand when shot, the player would still be holding the rope that is attached to the arrow (which is now lodged in a wall somewhere). Think of the connection between an entity and a lead attached to a block. The player may then right-click the side of a block, creating a rope bridge. Of course, the player would only be able to establish the connection on a block that is straight across from the target, and that is within the limits that rope can stretch out to in the air.
Very basic demonstration (without the rope in-hand attachment part, because I don't know how to do that).
Why should we implement the feature?
C&U. Coolness and Utility.
Yeah, you could just bridge across with blocks, but why do that when you could do it cooler?
I could do that but I worry about the lack of feedback of this feature. Rope arrow works pretty much anywhere but this requires that arrow lands on a block that is on the exact y level the player is and not only that but the X/ Z coordinate needs to be exactly the same as player as well
