I noticed issue #4 and #5 are similar in regards to turning off GPU cloud option in the config solves it, so please forgive me if you would have rather I posted there, I'm just new to minecraft modding and also github and don't know how people like things organized and I figure posting a new issue had the least amount of risk of being messy.

Leaving GPU clouds on but not running Optifine results in no crash, so its a conflict in there somewhere
Here's the log from MultiMC: http://paste.ee/p/dWLTk
And the crash log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7in18ke0bcqnwrm/crash-2016-08-28_17.43.32-client.txt?dl=0

Not familiar enough with minecraft troubleshooting to know exactly whats needed, kinda new to this community, so let me know if I'm missing anything that would be beneficial to you at all.

Thank you for reporting this issue. It is similar to the others, however the root cause is actually different. It appears that Optifine is aggressively altering this area of the code, making it difficult for us to retain compatibility. It may be best to disable our cloud feature automatically while Optifine is installed.

Well in that case glad I can help. If theres any other info I can provide let me know, and if you'd like me to test any potential versions in future for the issue I'd be happy to do that too.

This has been merged into Forge, no longer an issue from Surge.
