[Request] De-sync or switch shells on purpose

The one thing that I immediately wanted to do with this is use it as a "remote control" option for my various bases (Nether, overworld, moon, mars, etc etc, I have Galacticraft installed) all from the safety and comfort of my space station.

Would it be possible to add a "de-sync" button (able to be disabled in the config maybe?) that pulls up the same GUI as stepping into the shell storage tube thingy does?

Hmmm...what about an option to upgrade the shell construction unit to also act as a storage unit? Possibly a recipe involving both the constructor and the storage unit? Just throwing out ideas, definitely get the whole "store your shell in a storage unit", makes sense now that you said it.

Half the reason I opened this was I hadn't figured out that you can store shells in the storage unit...I had thought you could only store your original body there, for some unknown reason. Totally makes sense now.

Your original body's considered a shell anyways. Heh.

Nah, the main reason for a construction unit and a storage unit to be separate is to complicate things, else everything'll be too simple :P

Constructors are basically one time use only, you can't go back into it after synched to one.

That makes a bit more sense, thanks for the info. Does it cause a problem for the shells if you break the constructor after they're out of it?

commented

No. It's just a constructor.

Closing this, since it really isn't an issue now.

No. This was requested during the development of the mod, and as I said then, I don't want to leave player's bodies hanging around in the world with nothing to do. That's the entire point of the storage unit block.
