When you sync with a potion effect, you will keep that potion effect on the new shell. You will also have it back when you re-sync back to the previous shell.

Also the shell is visible even if you had an invisibility effect when switching between shells.

The invisibility thing is a vanilla issue. You eventually go invisible after some time (for me it was when I opened my inventory to bring up the current effects list)
