Livestock animals grow old even in the wild but wolves dont grow at all, not even being domesticated, making them a source of food you can keep without having to worry about.

Not that you can't trap other animals and exploit this, but anyway, wolves can be bred and I agree they should grow old but can't exactly make that only when domesticated, it is either both or none.
