Support beam crosses don't connect across wood types

Another support beam quirk:
X/Z Cross section:
.S.
TTT
.S.
Where T
and S
are support beams of different wood types.
The center T
support will only connect horizontally to the support beams of the same type. The other support beams will appear to connect to the center T
but are disjoint.
The center T
should be connecting in all four directions.
