Ingot Molds Stackability
Version: 1.20.x
Problem: The cooled ingot molds don't stack. It's very inconvenient for players to pull out each ingot separately from the mold, especially if there are more than 100 ingots.
Solution: Make the molds stackable once they cool down.
Please provide a minimal reproduction case of how to obtain said unstackable ingot molds, and screenshots of two unstackable molds tooltip with enableDebug
on in the TFC client config, and advanced tooltips (F3 + H) enabled.
Thank you very much for your response. Here are the instructions on how to reproduce this case:
- Create a new world in MC version 1.20.1 with TFC mod version 3.2.13 (the latest at the moment).
- Create a Charcoal Forge, place coal, 2 copper ingots, and 2 ingot molds inside, then wait for the copper to melt.
- Take 2 filled ingot molds into your inventory.
- Cool the molds in a water barrel or simply wait for them to cool down on their own.
Now we have 2 ingot molds that do not stack.
To extract ingots from them, you need to place them one by one into the crafting grid. Players usually produce dozens of ingots, and their inventory gets filled up. Non-stackable ingot molds cause significant inconvenience, especially when players have to place them one by one into the crafting grid.

ah, there's a misunderstanding here. Cooled empty ingot molds will stack. Filled ones - like filled containers of any other type - will not. This is intentional behavior.

No, you don't - there's two other ways, both right click in hand, and right click in inventory which extract the ingot once cooled.
When I right-click with the filled mold in my hand, I see the message "contents have solidified," meaning that for some reason, the first method doesn't work for me. The second method does work—I wasn't aware of it. However, the item behavior itself is quite unusual. Yes, it's immersive, but in 1.7.10, this mechanic was MUCH more convenient. Previously, extracting ANY number of ingots took 2-3 seconds, whereas now, EACH ingot takes about 1 second to extract. If you have 30 ingots, you'll be extracting them one by one for 30 seconds. There's no way to scale it. But that's a question for the mechanics. Thank you very much for the clarification!
