This is a suggestion for a feature improvement:

Currently (1.20.1-3.2.18), items such as trapdoors, barrels, fences, etc.. made entirely with lumber/planks cannot be recycled back into wood products in any way.
My suggestion is to allow wood items that are made only with planks/lumber to be cut back into the lumber they are made of using a saw, similar to how plank blocks function.
