Tree saplings disappear (rather than grow) when planted next to a nugget/rock

Describe the bug
Make sure to include:
- What did you expect to happen?
The tree sapling to grow. - What actually happened instead (i.e. what was the bug)
It disappeared.
To Reproduce
Attention to detail is important!
- Do '...'
Plant sapling on adjacent block to one that has a nugget or rock on the surface. - Then do '...'
Wait until others nearby have grown, this one will have disappeared.
