[Bug] Holosphere obtained via /give command is broken in multiple ways

Observed behaviour
Firstly, I know now that I shouldn't have tried to obtain the holosphere with /give. If this circumstance is beyond your scope, whatever, nbd.
Holosphere item obtained by /give [player] tetra:holo does not show a texture, but interacting normally appears functional. Upon placing the holosphere, an additional issue ensues: when the holosphere is targeted by the crosshair, the game saves the world and shuts down. Attempting to load the world causes the game to crash immediately if the player does not manage to avert their gaze (get the cursor off the holosphere) during the loading sequence. holding a movement input or vigorously shaking the mouse during load can accomplish this. Targeting the holosphere again under any circumstance resumes the cycle of crashing. Using the /setblock command can clear the bugged holosphere.
Expected behaviour
/give [player] tetra:holo should give the player a default holosphere instead of what I think may be an uninitialized one.
Steps to reproduce
- run the command /give [player] tetra:holo (observe that the holosphere has no texture)
- place the holosphere in the world with shift+right click
