Tool Scrapping / resource retrieaval upon swapping parts

Feature description
When changing parts of a tool, the previously used ingredients are lost.
for some endgame items such as items from the underground structures, using things like a repurposed beam, etc and then changing them out for another resource means you lose the beam. this also applies to other materials, of course.
The Idea would be to have either a scrap output (resource / scrap from the material the old part was made of) when crafting tools, or to have a way of recycling Tetra tools into their base components / some form of scrap / slag.
Usage Example: using scrap in the forge hammer, or using it in the workbench with a hammer, will randomly output a resource, optionally from materials used in the scrapped part. (Diamond shortblade scrap: chance to output diamond). Scrap would then also have a chance to output some tetra resources (low chance). this could be affected by hammer tier.
How it improves the player experience
The scrap could be reused to craft better materials and parts, and would let the player recuperate part of the used materials, especially for highly expensive materials used in modpacks.
Players could also destroy unused items, regaining some resources instead of voiding the items. this would be especially useful for weapons not modified in the desired way, accidentally used resources and useless loot obtained in large quantities (in the case that mob farms spit out Tetra items).
Having something happen to the old parts of the item being modified would also increase immersion, as normally when changing out parts the old, usually damaged part that got replaced is left over.
Tetra synergies
Adding a form of recycling tools, and / or scrap output from crafting would add another aspect to the tetra pack, as well as new materials one could craft from scrap.
