[Bug] Cannot upgrade shovel or sword with honing table

Observed behaviour
When i try to use the honing table for the shovel or sword, it wont let me upgrade anything about the tools/weapons. i click on the handle for example to upgrade it but the options just flash and i cant click it
Expected behaviour
What should be happening is i click on what i want to upgrade and the box for the options should stay opened instead of flash
Steps to reproduce
- make honing table
- put shovel or sword down
- click on handle
- if bugged, the options for different handles will only flash
