I'm not sure how hard this would be to do, but maybe add support so that any ores in the ore dictionary.
This came to mind while mining in a modpack that adds ores like uranium and nickel.

There's a Tin cluster that might work to simply color shift it to be a placeholder icon for any clusters instead of trying to extract color palettes or possibly pull the color of the metal from it's associate ingot/block?

Additionally if the Sounding effect for third party ore's could have a pastel or translucent color that reflects the block color/ingot color that would also be amazing, currently they show as a vague off white color that sharper eyes might catch as different than quartz but otherwise...

I recommend Congrega Mystica if you're looking for additional ore support for clusters (and eldritch clusters from Thaumic Wonders), it allows you to add your own clusters and many popular mods are supported by default. The Sounding effect was not looked at yet from what I remember.

So far the above recommended mod seems like a great solution to the refined cluster side

• It's very limited in scope to cross compatibility
• The content it does add doesn't significantly change the difficulty of Thaumcraft or Minecraft

The sounding would be a nice to have, but I'll leave it to this mod's author on if this is in scope for this project, otherwise this can probably be closed

New sounding colors should now be supported by ThaumicTweaker, almost all popular mods should already be supported by default but feel free to suggest anything that is missing!
