Sky Render issue

Whenever holding a Thaumic Gauntlet or Voidic Gauntlet, the sun is enveloped by a black box. Additionally, if it's sunrise or sunset, the stars are nothing but black dots.

It is not a gameplay issue, luckily, but still disappointing. It might be a compatibility issue with Optifine, but it's still an issue.

I've noticed this exact issue in one of my own modded setups, but curiously I haven't been seeing this in my modified Hexxit II setup, which includes optifine.

I do also have the garden of glass skybox mod installed in the latter case too, so it might be incidentally fixing the issue, but it could also be the settings I've set for that pack with optifine

If you have Optifine installed then there will be problems like that, just to warn you, since it doesn't get on with other mods very well. Regardless, I think that's actually a problem with vanilla Thaumcraft, since I remember seeing that problem in videos of it, so I don't know if much can actually be done to solve it sadly.

Does the regular gauntlet from vanilla Thaumcraft have the same issue?

No it does not. I know that mods like Modular Powersuits has a similar issue with its HUD so it might just be an optifine issue, however.

So the black box has me thinking that transparency / blending is not enabled for some reason when rendering the sun and stars. The only time I ever touch that relating to gauntlets is when rendering the impetus charge bar, which does not seem to be a factor here. Since Optifine is at play here there is not much I can really do about it, since it messes everything up. Even just running it for testing is annoying because of some things Optifine does behind the scenes that I dislike.

That being said, if anyone can figure out if it is indeed my fault and what the exact problem is, I'll fix it. Only suggestion I can give for now is to try disabling the TA shaders in the config (should be under the client options).

In that case, why not just make a small bit of lore saying "some Thaumomancers seem to have an interesting view of the world around them; especially regarding the sun" or something to show that you've acknowledged it and until you find a fix, it's a feature.

Lazy? Yeah, but at least it offers a temporary "solution" to the problem.

One of those things a modpack author could easily do with a small resource patch, no additional mods necessary. That said, I think this is one of those times where someone more familiar with Optifine needs to come by and reproduce the issue, then tweak things in Optifine until it doesn't happen. That would narrow down what's going on, even if that too isn't a proper fix.

Sorry for leaving this for so long (I probably saw the word "Optifine" and noped out...) but one thing that would confirm or deny my suspicions above - if you press f1 to hide the hud, does it still mess up the sky?

I also realize that there's a chance you no longer are playing this mod / the game because it's been so long, in which case don't worry about it.
