Idea was brought on by the frustration of using flux condensers. What if they could be upgraded? An idea I had was similar to the current system of basic/thaumium/voidmetal, with the latter two being better than the former two but having their own differing advantages.

My thought was that the Thaumium Flux Condenser could convert essentia and flux into vitium at a faster rate than the original, and has the bonus of extracting two vitium essentia per operation compared to usual. Meanwhile the Void Flux Condenser could extract flux from multiple chunks, increasing the amount of vitium produced at the cost of requiring significantly more essentia to fuel.

I just had a thought. Perhaps, an upgrade that circumvents the vis filter cost/clogging, some sort of lattice upgrade or alternative version, that makes it so if it would have otherwise clogged, it instead becomes concentrated and spawns as a (vitium aspect) wisp at the given lattice. Which of course means it would pair nicely with an autocaster to deal with the nuisance.

I had some more thoughts about this

Perhaps the Thaumium Flux Condenser could draw in flux in a 3x3 chunk grid, while also keeping the whole double speed/vitium thing. Meanwhile, the Void Flux Condenser could draw in from a 5x5 chunk grid.
Also, it'd be interesting to have them possibly be able to be powered by Impetus to dramatically increase their operating efficiency somehow, either by improving their speed or reducing the essentia cost. It can fit in the lore, too, as the Impetus energy could help attract flux because of its rift-based nature.

Yea I would like the use of impetus in manipulating flux and the aura in general. It would parallels TC2 with its taint removal methods, with needing to recirculate the taint many times through. (Currently would be Flux -> Vitium -> Rift -> Impetus)

I like the void metal one. I think it should be implemented as some sort of block akin to the auxilary venting/slurry pumps, where they are attached to the condenser (think something similiar to the mnemonic matrix).

At the risk of thread necromancy, I wanted to add my thoughts here instead of starting a new issue.
In previous versions of Thaumcraft, the end goal for me seemed to reach a point of not having regular upkeep and get on with more adventuring.

What if instead of more power or speed, the lattice simply could purge it's clog automatically.

I was thinking the recipe could be 6 impetus jewels, 2 void plates, and a flux condenser lattice to make an upgraded lattice, or a suitable recipe for an upgraded condenser.

once every so often if it developed a clog, and there was a source of impetus nearby, then it could take in a tiny bit of impetus to dislodge the clog. perhaps allow redstone to disable it should the rift it's feeding from dwindle too low.
