I have this problem as well-- not sure how they look placed, but in the thaumonomicon, the sprites look like patched together, unrelated textures. Not entirely sure if it's just an Optifine issue as I haven't tested yet.

@_@ What in the what... That looks nothing like it is supposed to. I do know that the renderer i am using is not compatible with shaders. Not sure about optifine, Ill have to figure out a way to get it installed in my dev environment.

So i tried with and without Optifine.
Without Optifine:

Not sure if the icon textures are correct, but they seem okay? though not what I remember. The in game texture seems to have issues, though. All black? O_o

With Optifine:

Placed textures swapped between being invisible and being mish-mashed textures as I placed and broke each of the providers.
Icons appear as mish-mashed textures, like a smaller version of the second image.

Hmm, I am caching the texture location at launch. Maybe I shouldn't do that. I'll get rid of the cache and see if that helps.

I do not use Optifine, just fastcraft.

Just for the record, I also use fastcraft. It's possible it's interfering in some way, but it's hard to say since there's almost no description of what the mod does. -_-

From what I have read, fastcraft does a good deal of texture manipulation. But never the less, I shouldn't be assuming once a texture is stitched into the Atlas it will remain there. 0.8.5b should fix this issue.
Edit: Fastcraft probably causes all kinds of hell with my procedurally generated gas textures. If either of you also have EC2 installed, do those textures also look crazy in the fluid terminal?

I'm using 0.8.6b and am getting the same issues without Optifine, Fastcraft, and Shaders. The issues seems to be coming from Ars Magica 2, OpenBlocks Snapshot 507 (most recent since I thought updating will fix this issue), and Chisel 2 2.1.0.0 (by TheCricket26, same thing with Pokefenn's). I'll be going through 106 more mods to see if they cause this issue. Strangely enough, no Thaumcraft addons cause this issue.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Einsvies. I put AM2 into my dev enviroment and sure enough, got the strangeness. Still have no idea WHY it messes up, but I quickly realized how to fix it. I can only hope this fix will be the last fix.

Even though I am relatively certain now that this is fixed, I am leaving this open for feedback/conformation.

The graphical error is fixed on 0.8.7b with OpenBlocks, Chisel 2, Extra Cells, and Natura (these specifically caused the error). 0.8.7b is working as intended with the remainder of the 81 mods from the 106. I'm not testing with Optifine/Fastcraft/Shaders (Mantle from mDiyo/boni doesn't like Optifine and there's no point of Shaders in space with Galacticraft).

Using 0.8.6b and yes they still look weird even in the Fluid terminal of EC2

Error appears fixed with a billion mods + optifine hd u a4 and fastcraft. :D yay!
