It would be fine and all, but it just hangs there and never stops. maybe a config to remove this so i can set up a auto-restart schedule?

This probably isn't actually Lost Cities-related. I'm guessing that if you remove that mod entirely, it'll just get stuck backing up a different dimension. Can you test this?
