Mending Moss not getting experience.

Issue description:
I have a dark hammer that I put on Mending Moss. After a mining session and getting exp orbs from mining coal, redstone, etc I check the hammer in the Tool Forge and it says 0 exp stored. Even if I am actively using it, it's in my main hand, when I absorb the exp, it doesn't absorb exp.
If crashed, link to crash report (use a site such as pastebin):
Versions:
- Minecraft: 1.12.2
- Forge: 1.12.2-14.23.5.2847
- Mantle: Mantle-1.12-1.3.3.55
- Tinkers Construct: 1.12.2-2.13.0.171
Can it be reproduced with just Tinkers Construct? If not, list the other mods required to reproduce the issue.
Umm... Ender IO (1.12.2-5.1.55) and EnderCore (1.12.2-0.5.73) for the Dark Steel .
Probably because the XP was used up to repair the tool, if you were using it for mining :)
Maybe? But I still have to repair it after.
