Melting timer pauses under certain conditions

Describe your issue
When a smeltery becomes invalid or has its fuel tank removed, melting timers stop ticking down. This means that if you run out of fuel you can make your smeltery invalid or remove the fuel tank(s) to pause the melting bar from going down until you get more fuel.
Steps to reproduce
Construct a smeltery.
Put something with a shortish melting timer in (ie raw iron).
Wait for the bar to progress noticeably
Make smeltery invalid or remove the fuel tank from above the controller
See melting bar not decrease.
